Jim corbett was a legendary British hunter who later turned to Nature-lover, keeper and Conservationalist. He later founded a National park named after him, which is one of the best National Parks in India found in Uttranchal, India.
The natural uniqueness of the area was recognized long ago and so in 1936 Corbett attained the distinction as the first national park to be established in mainland Asia.
Corbett National Park lies in two districts – Nainital and Pauri – in the hill state of Uttaranchal in northern India. It covers an area of 521 sq. km and together with the neighboring Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary and Reserve Forest areas, forms the Corbett Tiger Reserve over 1288 sq. km.
We planned a weekend getaway to Jim corbett National park for a peaceful long weekend. The environment is clean, sky is clear, away from noise and pollution of urban cities. We stayed at Machaan Resort, a perfect place where you would find comfortable bed and delicious food.
Safari trips were exciting and breathtaking in Maruti suzuki Gypsy that drives you through mud-road through middle of the jungle.
